Promotional access

If you enter a promotional code during registration, we save it with your account so you can activate after confirming your email, including on another device. A pending code may also be stored in your browser. We record the campaign, account, activation and expiry dates to provide access and prevent repeat claims. We keep an account-level attempt counter to limit code guessing. These account-linked records are deleted when you delete your account. Receiving a pass does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Information we may collect

• Basic usage data such as page views, device type, browser, approximate region, referral source, and interaction events.
• Your email address, authentication records, account identifier, and subscription-access status when you create a Pro account.
• Billing references, subscription status, renewal dates, and limited transaction metadata needed to provide and support Pro access.
• Email address and message content if you contact us voluntarily.
• Google Analytics cookies and identifiers used to measure visits. During a temporary measurement period, analytics loads automatically without asking for opt-in, including when an earlier site preference declined analytics.
• When you open an embedded YouTube video, Google and YouTube may receive network, device, application-integrity and playback-interaction information needed to provide and protect the player.

How we use information

• To operate, secure, and improve the website and app.
• To understand which public pages, articles, and videos are useful to readers.
• To authenticate accounts, confirm subscription entitlement, process payments, prevent abuse, and provide billing support.
• To respond to messages, corrections, source tips, or privacy requests.

Payments

Card checkout and recurring billing are processed by Stripe. Kaspa News does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe may collect payment, billing, fraud-prevention, and device information under its own privacy policy. If you pay in KAS, the transaction is recorded on the public Kaspa network; we retain the transaction identifier and amount needed to confirm access and provide support.

To prevent the same KAS payment from granting access more than once, we also keep a hash of its transaction identifier and when the payment was recorded. This separate record contains no account identifier, email, quote, amount, or wallet address. It remains after account deletion for as long as needed to prevent payment reuse. A hash can still be compared with a known public transaction, so we do not treat it as anonymous data.

Third-party services

The site uses authentication and database hosting, website hosting, email delivery, Stripe billing, analytics, and embedded-media services. Those providers process information under their own policies and contracts.

Account confirmation, password-reset, and password-change security emails are delivered through ImprovMX, which processes recipient addresses, message contents, and delivery information to provide that service.

Kaspa News uses YouTube API Services for embedded video playback. When you load the player, YouTube may process your IP address, device or application identifiers, integrity signals and playback interactions, and may use cookies or similar technologies under the Google Privacy Policy. Playback is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Privacy-enhanced mode is enabled where the player supports it, but it does not prevent all data transmission to Google.

X post embeds load automatically in articles on the website and Android app. Loading an embed connects your device to X, which can receive your IP address, browser or WebView information, cookie or device identifiers, the embedded post identifier, and viewing or interaction events. X processes this information under its Privacy Policy. The Android app requests X's do-not-track setting to limit personalization, but this does not prevent all data transmission to X. Your Kaspa News login credentials and Pro session are not passed to the embed.

Telegram embeds

Telegram message embeds load automatically in articles on the website and supported Android app versions. Loading a message connects your device to Telegram, which can receive your IP address, browser or WebView information, the requested message identifier, and interactions with the embedded content. Telegram may use cookies or similar technologies under its Privacy Policy. Your Kaspa News login credentials and Pro session are not passed to the embed. You do not need to sign in to Telegram to read public embedded messages.

Retention and security

We retain account and subscription records while your account is open and for as long as reasonably needed for security, support, accounting, dispute handling, or legal obligations. We use access controls and service-provider security features, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

The app keeps a bounded local cache of public Articles, your onboarding choice, and last opened article slug on your device so recently read content opens quickly. If you sign in, the authentication provider also keeps your account session on the device, and the app keeps bounded, user-scoped Pro response caches for faster tab switching. Signing out or successfully deleting the account immediately blocks that user's Pro cache and attempts its local removal; clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the remaining local app data.

Your choices

• Site analytics choices are temporarily paused. Previously saved choices are retained for restoration. Browser privacy controls remain available; advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. Authentication pages are excluded from analytics.
• You can disable cookies or clear local storage in your browser settings.
• You can manage a card subscription from the Account page.
• For a non-admin account, you can permanently delete it yourself from Data & account. This immediately ends an active card subscription and removes the account and its local billing mapping. Admin accounts are protected from self-service deletion and require a verified operational request by email.
• Read the public account deletion instructions, or contact us to request access to your personal information, subject to records we must retain.

Children

Kaspa News is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
