Information we use

Public pages can be read without an account. If you create an account or use Pro, we use your email, sign-in information, access status and payment references to provide access, manage billing and help with support. We also receive the information you choose to send us by email.

Technical and usage information, such as IP address, device and browser details, page views and interactions, helps us operate, secure and understand the service. Preferences, reading position and sign-in information may be stored on your device.

Payments

Stripe handles card payments; we do not store full card details. Payment and subscription references let us confirm access and resolve billing issues. KAS transactions are public on the Kaspa network and cannot be erased by Kaspa News.

For a KAS subscription we store, linked to your account: your wallet address (where your KAS comes back) and the public key inside it; the short message your wallet signed to prove it controls that address; the subscription's public values and its two addresses; a snapshot of the coins at your address as our Kaspa node sees them; any transaction or cancel message your wallet signed that you asked us to send for you; and the history of deposits, monthly payments, refunds and cancels with their transaction ids. We keep this while the subscription runs and afterwards for accounting and support. If you delete your account, the subscription's record stays without the link to your account so that its months can still be paid out and anything left can still go back to your wallet. Everything that happens on the Kaspa network is public and permanent.

On the KAS subscription page your browser also contacts these services directly, without Kaspa News in between. Each of them sees your IP address and browser details, like any website. The public Kaspa indexer (api.kaspa.org on Kaspa's main network, api-tn10.kaspa.org on its test network) receives your wallet address and your subscription's two addresses, to list the coins at them, and a cancel your wallet signed if this page has to send it to the network itself. If you connect the Kaspire app, Reown's WalletConnect relay (relay.walletconnect.org) carries the messages between this page and your phone, encrypted so that Reown cannot read them, and Reown Verify (verify.walletconnect.org) receives this site's address so that Kaspire can confirm a request really comes from kaspa.news. On Kaspa's main network the dotk name service (api.dotk.name) is asked whether the name news.k still points to Kaspa News' receiving address; it is told nothing else about you. This page loads no analytics.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics currently loads automatically, including if you previously declined analytics. Site analytics choices are temporarily paused. Advertising storage and personalisation are disabled. Dedicated email-confirmation and password-reset pages and the KAS subscription page are excluded from analytics. You can use your browser privacy controls to block or clear cookies.

Services and embedded content

We use service providers for hosting, accounts, payments, email, analytics and notifications. They process the information needed for those services and may process it in other countries.

Embedded posts, videos and external images may load automatically and share your IP address, device information and interactions with their providers. They may also use cookies. See the privacy policies for Google/YouTube, X and Telegram. We use YouTube API Services; playback is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Kaspa Knowledge Lab

The Kaspa Knowledge Lab answers questions about Kaspa at lab.kaspa.news, on the Lab page of kaspa.news and in the Lab tab of the Android app. It keeps every question with its answer, with no set time limit, to improve the Lab: for example to see what people ask, add knowledge and test answers, and possibly to train models later. This cannot be turned off, so keep secrets and personal details out of your questions. With each question it stores a visit code that changes every day, your country and whether you used a phone, tablet or computer. It does not store your IP address, and questions are not linked to your Kaspa News account. Votes and comments on an answer are kept with it.

To write an answer, the Lab sends your question and the earlier questions and answers in the same chat to OpenAI and Anthropic. A screenshot you add is read first on the Lab's own server and, when that is not enough, by Anthropic. The Lab does not keep the picture; the text read from it is kept only if you send it as a question.

When you share an answer, anyone with the link can read your question, the answer, its sources and up to two earlier questions and answers from that chat. Your name is not shown. Contact us to remove a shared answer.

The Lab runs behind Cloudflare. When it opens, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person, using your IP address and browser information, and the Lab keeps a pass in your browser for up to 12 hours. Talks play in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player only when you tap one. On lab.kaspa.news and the kaspa.news Lab page, Google Analytics also records the first 100 characters of each question, with email addresses, Kaspa addresses, keys and phone numbers removed. The Android app's Lab tab does not load Google Analytics.

Public source material

We collect public posts and author information for our feeds, research and Kaspians Mood. Automated tools, including external AI services, help organise and classify this material. Source records and classifications are archived without automatic expiry; removing a post from its original platform does not automatically remove our saved copy. Contact us about corrections or removal requests.

App notifications

The Android app offers notifications about articles, Mood, Radar and node releases. Google's notification service uses a device identifier to deliver the topics you choose; we do not link it to your account or track notification opens. Manage them in the app's Settings or turn them off in Android settings.

Retention and your choices

We keep account information while your account is open. Some payment, support, security and backup records may remain as needed for disputes, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Limited records to prevent the same KAS payment being reused remain after account deletion. We use access controls to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You can cancel card renewal or delete your account in Settings. Account deletion ends active card subscriptions; it does not erase public Kaspa BlockDAG transactions or public source material. See deletion instructions. Clear browser or app storage to remove local preferences and cached content.

Contact hello@kaspa.news to request access, correction or deletion, or to exercise other rights available under your local law, including restriction, objection and data portability where applicable. We may verify ownership first. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children and policy updates

Kaspa News is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We update this policy as the service changes; the date above shows the latest revision.
